Artist Statement - Dark Matter

Shapes not readily perceptible often carry an extra level of implied meaning. In these small works a shadowy veil impedes full understanding of the space and the objects inhabiting it. Visual incidents advance and retreat; are illumined or swallowed up in blackness. One’s attention is telescoped. The viewer is tasked with making sense of something only dimly and intermittently apparent, peering from dark into deeper darkness.
