Oddballs

For this group I have focused again on a single, delimited shape. Often in my previous works I have incorporated contrasts between strict geometrical elements and softer amorphous forms. In these more fanciful drawings, which I have entitled Oddballs for their quirky peculiarity, I continue to take in hand this opposition.

In them I have introduced a spatial “cutout”– a shape producing a distinct optical effect of a more intense and material white, greater than the normal white of the page. It also functions as a supportive foundation for the consequent structure of the overall image.
